Road Closure information for The Hidden Gem Half Marathon-Saturday, September 7th
The Village of Flossmoor will experience a series of rolling road closures during the running of the first Hidden Gem Half Marathon.
There will be a period of “Soft” closures and then “Hard” closures when runners enter each neighborhood. These hard closures will vary by neighborhood and are unlikely to last longer than 1 hour in most neighborhoods.
Sections of Flossmoor Road
(Sterling Ave to Governors Highway) may experience slightly longer hard closures.
THE DESIGNATED DETOURS DURING THE RACE ARE: 183RD STREET, DIXIE HIGHWAY, CRAWFORD/PULASKI, VOLLMER RD
WESTERN AVE WILL BE CLOSED AT VARDON LANE AND FLOSSMOOR RD (7:00AM-11:15AM)-Some turns allowed (SEE MAP).
Access to Homewood-Flossmoor High School will be limited to Kedzie Ave entrance/exit from the North during the run (7:00a-9:00a).

Flossmoor Rd (East of Governors)- 7:00a- 11:15a
Flossmoor Hills- 7:50a-9:15a
Braemer Rd- 8:00a-9:45a
Heather Hill - 8:15a-10:30a
Estates Section- 8:15a-10:45a
Flossmoor Park - 8:30a-11:15a
Old Flossmoor - 8:45a- 11:30a
Actual times may vary slightly due to runner speeds and weather conditions.
We ask that you are courteous and aware of surroundings. There will be over 100 on course Marshalls at EVERY intersection to help guide you out of your neighborhoods if an emergency need arises.
The Village of Flossmoor Police have also agreed to waive the no overnight parking ban if you need to park a car near your home and off the route to get out in the morning.
